Product Summary

LEADING LIGHT SAILING

Changing the way Sail training is delivered

The course is an introduction to chart work, navigation, meteorology and seamanship. You will learn how to determine tidal heights and tidal streams and how they will affect your sailing.

The course covers basic navigation techniques such as – Position Fixing, Course to Steer, Pilotage, Meteorology, IRPCS (Collision Regulations, Lights, Sounds etc), Stability and Buoyage. By the end of the course the successful student will have a comprehensive knowledge of what is required to navigate to Day Skipper standard, and will have passed 2 assessments on chartwork, meteorology, and IRPCS.

If you require a more general introduction, try the Basic Navigation & Safety course first.  This is not required, but will certainly help with basic safety and pilotage information
